Ridge House relies on volunteer support and generous donations to help our clients on their journey to wellness and independence. Ridge House maintains a wide array of volunteer and community service opportunities. If you are interested in opportunities, please feel free to reach out!
Community Service
Our community service volunteers are typically referred by one of our partner organizations and are usually required to complete a certain number of community service hours. To learn about the community service opportunities we offer, please reach out to us and talk with our HR Manager, Monique Paradis at (775) 322-8941.
Community Work Projects
Sometimes referred to as “Community Work Days,” these projects stem from our partnerships with various service groups and company organizations. Projects are planned to match the needs of the community with the skills and services of those at our facility. Community work projects are offered to eligible non-profit organizations like Ridge House that provide services enhancing the social welfare and general well-being of the community.
Internships
Ridge House offers several student internships focusing on on-site training as it relates to clinical skills and workforce development. We work with students from schools across the region including the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), the University of Southern California (USC) and the University of Phoenix.
Service Learning Projects
The service learning projects created by Ridge House are typically assigned to students by their professors from a myriad of disciplines – everything from business management to criminal justice. Service learning is a dynamic approach to teaching in which students explore real-world problems and challenges. With this type of active and engaged learning, students are inspired to obtain a deeper knowledge of the subjects they’re studying.
